Congratulations to the Owner on a fine establishment!

What a mix up. Service very slow but was a busy time of year but no excuse for what happened. Very long in getting seated even though our table was ready. 2 mix ups with food. Children ordered 2 pasta marenara and 1 mac and cheese, got 2 mac and cheese and 1 pasta marenara. Probably just as well as the Marenara sauce was too spicy for a child. The other was my son-in-law ordered the burger well done (no pink) and I ordered the steak medium. He got a raw burger and I got a very well done steak. Both were replaced. The 3 pastas that were also ordered came cold but tasty. Had to add lots of salt and pepper to the soups. BUT the biggest problem was the order the food came in. The adults got their food a good 5 minutes before 2 of the children. The third child was another several minutes later. I have never been in a restaurant any where in the world that does not serve the children first. Yes it was a very busy night for them but it was obvious their kitchen staff was not very organized.

Nice old-fashioned inn, unfortunately very noisy for over night guests. Most noise was from loud music in the kitchen, and from kitchen door slamming shut. Had to go down twice to ask them to quiet down. They were accommodating, but didn't get a good nights sleep.Don't recommend for overnight.

Felt like an Irish Pub in the mountains of Vermont. The service was outstanding. Friendly, attentive. Obviously locals steeped in the history and traditions of the area. The food was perfectly prepared. The salmon was spot-on. Even the veggies were excellent. The beer made on location was a full-bodied lager. Very good. The owner checked in on us several times during the evening. Very impressed. Next time will be an overnight stay in the Inn.

Had dinner at the Black Lantern Inn on Friday, August 22nd - WOW, food was very good with fresh vegies from their garden, excellent service in a wonderfully inviting dining room. The brisket I ordered had been roasting in the "back" and the seafood dish was outstanding. My husband and son received a very informed session on their scotch whiskey selection and loved the two they tasted! Would definitely return.
